Our Bench’s guide to Changing Places and public toilets in the New Forest
There are several Changing Places facilities in the New Forest, located at local attractions, shopping centres, and community buildings. There are also a range of other accessible toilet options. For many of our guests, knowing where the nearest suitable facility is can be essential, and something that needs to be planned in advance when booking a break or exploring somewhere new.
Our favourite Changing Places toilet has to be the one at Barton on Sea. We have included a photo above. If you head to the Beachcomber Café and take the slope down towards the sea, you will find a Changing Places facility on the lower path. From there, you can continue along the promenade and enjoy a stunning sea view. This has consistently been one of the cleanest local Changing Places facilities, with the added bonus of being one of the least used in the New Forest. If we were voting for the best Changing Places view, this would be it.

Community Toilet Scheme
allows visitors with disabilities to access toilets in local businesses displaying a Community Toilet Scheme sticker. While the northern New Forest has fewer public toilets, this scheme can make it easier to explore towns and villages with confidence.
