Carers and external equipment hire
Every guest who stays with us is unique. While we provide a wide range of accessible equipment and facilities, we cannot meet every possible need on site. In some situations, it is best to book directly with a specialist provider.
To help with planning, we have compiled a list of useful contacts. These are services our guests have used in the past, or providers who offer support and equipment that we are not currently able to supply ourselves.
Care agencies and services
Many of our guests stay with the support of external care agencies. We regularly welcome visiting carers and are happy to liaise in advance to ensure access arrangements, equipment needs, and routines are understood.
Due to high demand for care services in the New Forest, we strongly recommend arranging support well in advance of your stay.

- Hampshire Personal Assistants Finder – A directory of local personal assistants, some of whom offer short-term or holiday cover.

Equipment hire we do not provide
If the equipment you require is not included in our in-house range (which can be viewed on our website and should be booked when reserving your stay), you are welcome to hire equipment from external providers.
Deliveries can usually be arranged for the Friday before your arrival, between 10am and 1pm. Please let us know before confirming delivery so we can ensure your cottage is ready and someone is available to accept the equipment.
External equipment providers
The following companies have been used by our guests, neighbours, or family members, and may be able to help with specialist equipment hire:
- Dorset Nursing Supplies – Tel: 01202 425070. Stand aids, profiling beds, mattress overlays, scooters, and standing hoists.
- Winton Health Care Solutions – Tel: 01489 896435. Replacement mattresses, overlays, and air mattresses.
- Mobility Hire – Wheelchairs, scooters, hand bikes, lift-and-tilt shower chairs, tilt-and-recline chairs, and airflow mattresses.
- Mobility at Sea – Tel: 02392 000000. Scooters, power chairs, rotundas, and tilt-in-space shower or commode chairs. Delivery and collection typically on Fridays.
- Richen’s Care – Tel: 01425 638006. A wide range of equipment delivered before arrival and collected after departure.
- Ableworld (Christchurch) – Mobility scooter hire with delivery and collection. Daily and weekend rates available.
- Dialysis equipment – Contact: Milford War Memorial Hospital (01590 644135), Totton (02380 660195), or Wessex Renal Unit (02392 028600).
- Dolby Vivisol – Home oxygen services.
- New Forest Mobility – Mobility scooter hire with delivery and collection (New Milton).
- Solent Mobility – Daily, weekly, or monthly hire. Delivery within approximately 40 miles of Lee-on-the-Solent.
- Hot tub hire – Local suppliers may be able to deliver a hot tub during your stay.

Additional services
- Shopping deliveries: Groceries can be ordered online for delivery on the Friday before arrival (10am–1pm). For mid-week stays, please check with us first.
- Herbert Protocol: If you are travelling with someone who may be vulnerable or at risk of going missing, consider completing the Herbert Protocol. This helps emergency services respond quickly and should be updated every six months.
