Frequently Asked Questions
Are the cottages wheelchair accessible?
Yes. All three cottages at Our Bench are fully wheelchair accessible with step-free entry, wide doors, and level access throughout.
Do you provide specialist equipment such as profiling beds and hoists?
Yes. Each cottage includes profiling beds, ceiling hoists, riser recliner chairs, and accessible wet rooms. A wide range of additional mobility equipment is also available on request. You can view our equipment here.
Can I bring a service dog?
Yes. Service dogs are always welcome in all of our cottages, even those listed as pet-free, in line with UK equality legislation. Garden Bench is our dog friendly property as it has a secure garden, discover more here.
What is your booking and cancellation policy?
A deposit of £250 secures your booking, with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Cancellations more than 8 weeks before arrival are refunded minus the deposit. Cancellations within 8 weeks are non-refundable. We recommend travel insurance. Read our terms and conditions.
Is parking available at the cottages?
Yes. Each cottage has its own off-road parking space with level access to the front door. WAV parking and EV charging are available on-site.
Do you offer short breaks as well as weekly bookings?
Yes. We offer full weeks, midweek breaks, and weekend stays throughout the year, depending on availability.

We are often asked where our specialist equipment comes from, and where our beds come from as they are so comfortable, so we thought we would add some helpful links below, we aim to shop local when we can.
- Our Equipment - some of our disabled aids have come from the Complete Care Shop - you can purchase from them direct and they deliver within a couple of days.
- Our Hoists are from Dorset Nursing Supplies and they provide our regular LOLER checks.
- Our Beds are from the Bed Shop - another loal business, they are based in New Milton - our beds are made to order and they are happy to deliver nationwide.
- Our Kitchens and Bathrooms were purchased locally and fitted by Matt Renouf - who is happy to offer advice if you are looking to create similar in your own home.
